# PayPal Warm-Up Guide

Rep contact, warm-up amounts, tracking, disputes, PayPal reviews and ongoing rules for Hong Kong PayPal.

{% hint style="danger" %}
Contact your PayPal rep **before** starting any sales. Always use the nominee name when communicating with reps. Your rep contacts are in your delivery message (HK setups) — ask your manager if you cannot find them.
{% endhint %}

## 1. Before the first sale

{% stepper %}
{% step %}

#### Contact your assigned PayPal rep

Via WhatsApp Business, using the nominee name. Present yourself as an established, professional e-commerce operator opening a Hong Kong entity — solid and profitable.
{% endstep %}

{% step %}

#### Wait for confirmation

The rep will either accept you or assign another rep / account manager.
{% endstep %}

{% step %}

#### Only after rep confirmation → begin the warm-up

{% endstep %}
{% endstepper %}

{% hint style="warning" %}
All new PayPal accounts have a mandatory hold of about 21 days. Funds cannot be withdrawn until it passes. Ask your rep to push for removal as fast as possible.
{% endhint %}

{% hint style="info" %}
There is roughly a 70% chance the account gets reviewed or receives a hold in the first month. This is normal. Contact your rep immediately — they will push the risk team.
{% endhint %}

## 2. Environment — always

* ✅ Use a Hong Kong residential proxy ([GonzoProxy](https://gonzoproxy.com?r=6162JEL) — see the [GonzoProxy guide](/guide/guides/proxy-guide/gonzoproxy.md)) at all times
* ✅ Never access PayPal from a regular browser
* ✅ Keep the [OctoBrowser](https://octobrowser.org/signup/?p=10266582) profile consistent (same fingerprint, same IP)
* ✅ Payouts: **Manual**
* ❌ If login security triggers: stop all attempts for 48 hours

## 3. Warm-up schedule

| Period   | Daily target       | Notes                                |
| -------- | ------------------ | ------------------------------------ |
| Week 1   | $100–$200/day      | Slow, steady, credit cards only      |
| Week 2   | $200–$500/day      | Consistent activity                  |
| Week 3   | $500–$1,000/day    | Gradual increase                     |
| Week 4   | $1,000–$3,000/day  | No sudden jumps                      |
| Month 2+ | $5,000–$10,000/day | Only after a stable 1+ month history |

**One store rule:** only sell through the store connected during account creation. After $30–50k total revenue you can add other stores.

## 4. Tracking numbers

Upload tracking numbers from day 1 for every single order. Use an automated app — Trackipay or Trackipal — and double-check that it keeps syncing; it sometimes stops.

## 5. Avoiding disputes

* Communicate shipping times clearly in post-purchase emails and on your website
* Send a post-purchase follow-up email after 5 days:

> Do you have an issue with your order? Let us know! If you ordered via PayPal, please do not open a dispute — we will not be able to access the money and cannot refund you this way.

## 6. Managing disputes

| Dispute type | How to win |
| ------------------------ | ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| Product not as described | Ensure product pages describe accurately: features, size, contents, ingredients |
| Product not received | Correct shipping policy screenshot + supplier proof of delivery |
| Any dispute              | Reply within 24 hours                                                           |

When a customer opens a dispute, also ask them to close it:

> Please close your dispute. This will greatly decrease our PayPal account quality and we will not be able to access the money — meaning we cannot refund you this way.

## 7. If PayPal requests a review

Contact your manager immediately, **before** submitting anything. What PayPal asks for, how to prepare each document, what to do while you wait and the message templates are in the review template:

{% content-ref url="/pages/6pHkP4qHybiF92F6f1oS" %}
[PayPal review](/guide/guides/review-templates/paypal-review.md)
{% endcontent-ref %}

## 8. Ongoing rules

| Rule             | Detail                                                    |
| ---------------- | --------------------------------------------------------- |
| Balance reserve | Keep 7–10% of monthly volume — do not withdraw everything |
| TPV declaration | Declare €20,000/month in HKD to your rep |
| Rep unresponsive | Contact another rep (2–4 reps are provided) |

## 9. Security issues

| Situation                     | Action                                                                           |
| ----------------------------- | -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| PayPal login blocked | Stop all attempts → wait 48 hours |
| SMS code not arriving | Wait → retry → check the number is correct → contact your manager if it persists |
| PayPal or bank not loading | Switch proxy → clear all cache → retry |
| Account banned / under review | Contact your PayPal rep immediately |

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the following URL with the `ask` and `goal` query parameters:

```
GET https://help.basiq-solutions.com/guide/guides/paypal-warm-up.md?ask=<question>&goal=<user_goal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is what the user is ultimately trying to achieve, the reason they need the answer. Sharing it helps GitBook give you a better, more relevant answer. A goal is most helpful when it describes the outcome the user wants rather than restating the question. For example, with `ask=how do I create an API token`, a goal like `automate deployments from our CI pipeline` lets GitBook tailor the answer to that use case.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
