# a-socks (mobile — Stripe only)

Mobile unlimited proxies in the nominee's country — required for Stripe.

**Use for:** Stripe, always. Mobile proxies give cleaner IPs than residential ones and reduce the chance of additional checks from Stripe. For everything else use [GonzoProxy](/guide/guides/proxy-guide/gonzoproxy.md) (stores, PayPal) or [IPRoyal](/guide/guides/proxy-guide/iproyal.md) (banks, Wise).

{% hint style="danger" %}
The plan must be in the **nominee's country** — not the company's country. Never open Stripe through the proxy you use for Shopify or PayPal.
{% endhint %}

{% step %}

#### Register

Sign up at [asocks.com](https://asocks.com/c/5eB0tn) with your own email.
{% endstep %}

{% step %}

#### Buy a mobile unlimited plan

Choose **Mobile** → **Unlimited** → the nominee's country. One plan per Stripe account — never share a mobile proxy between two Stripe accounts.
{% endstep %}

{% step %}

#### Generate the proxy credentials

In the a-socks dashboard, create the proxy and copy its credentials. You need them in the form `socks5://ip:port:username:password`.
{% endstep %}

{% step %}

#### Add it to OctoBrowser

Add the proxy to the OctoBrowser profile you use **only for Stripe** (see the [Proxy Guide](/guide/guides/proxy-guide.md)), restart the profile and run the IP check at cip.su.
{% endstep %}
{% endstepper %}

## Tips

* Test with a short plan first and extend it once you see the proxy works for your Stripe login.
* If a page stops loading, rotate the IP in the a-socks dashboard and restart the profile.
* No a-socks plan in the nominee's country? Use an [IPRoyal dedicated mobile proxy](/guide/guides/proxy-guide/iproyal.md) in that country instead, with auto-rotation off.
* Mobile proxies are also the usual fix when a bank refuses to log in through a residential proxy — see [Proxy & access problems](/help-center/troubleshooting/proxy-and-access.md).

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the following URL with the `ask` and `goal` query parameters:

```
GET https://help.basiq-solutions.com/guide/guides/proxy-guide/a-socks.md?ask=<question>&goal=<user_goal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is what the user is ultimately trying to achieve, the reason they need the answer. Sharing it helps GitBook give you a better, more relevant answer. A goal is most helpful when it describes the outcome the user wants rather than restating the question. For example, with `ask=how do I create an API token`, a goal like `automate deployments from our CI pipeline` lets GitBook tailor the answer to that use case.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
