# Shopify Payments Warm-Up Guide

Environment preparation, store requirements, a new bank account for Shopify (with screenshots) and the revenue schedule.

{% hint style="danger" %}
Shopify Payments requires a completely new environment. Any reused data or mismatched environment leads to reviews or bans.
{% endhint %}

## 1. Core logic

* **New email required** — never used in Shopify before
* **New bank account required** — Shopify tracks banking data across all stores
* **Proxy must match the company's country of incorporation**
* **Payouts: daily** — Shopify Payments is the one platform where payouts stay on daily, not manual

## 2. Environment preparation

### 2.1 Proxy (required)

Use a residential proxy ([GonzoProxy](https://gonzoproxy.com?r=6162JEL) — see the [GonzoProxy guide](/guide/guides/proxy-guide/gonzoproxy.md)) matching the company country:

| Company           | Proxy location |
| ----------------- | -------------- |
| UK LTD            | United Kingdom |
| Hong Kong company | Hong Kong |
| US company        | United States  |

Shopify compares IP = company country. A mismatch triggers a review.

### 2.2 New email (required)

Your company email — never used in Shopify before — is used for the Shopify login, as the Shopify Payments owner and for KYC communication.

### 2.3 New phone number

Your company's dedicated phone number, not used in Shopify before. Best source: [Krispcall](https://try.krispcall.com/d0ye9ovwwn8s) — UK numbers are the most stable for OTP. Requires ID verification (safe — Krispcall does not share this data).

### 2.4 New bank account (required)

Shopify tracks banking data across all stores. Reused bank account details mean rejected activation, a "linked profiles" flag, manual review — and risk if an old store was banned.

Shopify matches only bank details, not the company name — so a **new account** at a bank you already use is enough. The same rule applies to the card used for Shopify billing: use a new card.

{% tabs %}
{% tab title="Airwallex" %}
If you already have Airwallex: create a new GBP Global Account (for a UK LTD) and connect it to Shopify Payments.

{% stepper %}
{% step %}

#### Open Wallet → Global Accounts

{% endstep %}

{% step %}

#### Click Create Global Account

{% endstep %}

{% step %}

#### Choose United Kingdom

This gives you new GBP account details for the UK LTD. Enter them in Shopify Payments.

{% endstep %}
{% endstepper %}

**New card for Shopify billing**

{% stepper %}
{% step %}

#### Open Cards

{% endstep %}

{% step %}

#### My Cards → Create card

Use this card only for this store's Shopify billing.

{% endstep %}
{% endstepper %}
{% endtab %}

{% tab title="WorldFirst" %}
If you already have WorldFirst: create a new GBP receiving account and connect it to Shopify Payments.

{% stepper %}
{% step %}

#### Shortcuts → Create new receiving account

{% endstep %}

{% step %}

#### GBP, single-currency, Platform Collection

{% endstep %}

{% step %}

#### Copy the account details into Shopify Payments

{% endstep %}
{% endstepper %}
{% endtab %}
{% endtabs %}

## 3. Store requirements

{% hint style="info" %}
The store is built by Basiq to these requirements before Shopify Payments is connected — you do not need to create it yourself. If you edit or rebuild it later, keep the same environment and all of the elements below.
{% endhint %}

* Always opened through the correct proxy with the company email, in one consistent environment (same IP + fingerprint throughout)
* A Shopify homepage with basic branding
* 3–5 compliant beauty products (non-health) — e.g. skincare, cosmetics
* A footer with business details (email, address, legal info)
* Policy pages, made from Shopify's templates with the data corrected inside: Privacy Policy, Terms of Service, Refund Policy, Shipping Policy

## 4. Revenue warm-up

### Demo week

{% stepper %}
{% step %}

#### Accept $500–$1,000 in total during the first week

{% endstep %}

{% step %}

#### Keep payouts on daily

Funds reach your bank continuously — no pause and no manual payout request is needed for Shopify Payments.
{% endstep %}

{% step %}

#### Then move on to the growth schedule

{% endstep %}
{% endstepper %}

{% hint style="warning" %}
Daily payouts protect you: if an account is blocked, whatever is still in the balance is frozen for 120–180 days.
{% endhint %}

### Growth schedule

| Timeframe | Daily revenue cap        |
| --------- | ------------------------ |
| Weeks 1–2 | $0–$300/day (non-linear) |
| Weeks 3–5 | $500–$800/day            |
| Weeks 6–9 | $1,000–$2,000+/day       |

Avoid linear daily growth — Shopify Payments flags this. Use realistic ups and downs like a real startup.

## 5. OctoBrowser profile structure

Name your [OctoBrowser](https://octobrowser.org/signup/?p=10266582) profiles in this format: `Company Name | Website | Nominee Name`

![OctoBrowser profile naming example](https://1489073001-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2FMi3FIHpdc5cNtmqjAPOo%2Fuploads%2FZZ97dF8RtIPOpeBgvk9o%2Focto-profile-naming.png?alt=media)

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the following URL with the `ask` and `goal` query parameters:

```
GET https://help.basiq-solutions.com/guide/guides/shopify-payments-warm-up.md?ask=<question>&goal=<user_goal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is what the user is ultimately trying to achieve, the reason they need the answer. Sharing it helps GitBook give you a better, more relevant answer. A goal is most helpful when it describes the outcome the user wants rather than restating the question. For example, with `ask=how do I create an API token`, a goal like `automate deployments from our CI pipeline` lets GitBook tailor the answer to that use case.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
