# Glossary

Terms you will meet in this guide and in your delivery message.

| Term                       | Meaning                                                                                                                                                                                             |
| -------------------------- | --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| **Setup** | A complete package: company + bank account + payment processor(s) + placeholder website + credentials, delivered as one unit. |
| **Bundle** | The HK setup: company + Hong Kong PayPal + bank, sold only as a whole. |
| **Add-on** | An optional module on top of a setup — Stripe, Shopify Payments, Additional Bank. Paid with a 10% deposit, balance after approval. |
| **Order form** | The form support sends you after you agree the setup with your manager. It fixes the exact composition of the setup and the company name the invoice is issued to. |
| **Nominee** | The EU resident who is the registered director of your company. You remain the beneficial owner and control the company. |
| **Beneficial owner** | The person who actually owns and benefits from the company — you. |
| **KYC** | Know Your Customer — identity and address documents a bank or processor requires. Your nominee package (passport, proof of address, selfie) contains them. |
| **Verification process** | A platform's identity check (e.g. Stripe or bank). All verifications needed to deliver the setup are passed by Basiq and included; any further verification after delivery costs €300. |
| **Selfie verification** | Stripe's live identity check with the nominee. Several Stripe rules change only after it is passed. |
| **Warm-up** | The controlled first weeks of processing: small, non-linear volumes until the processor trusts the account. |
| **Demo week** | The first $500–1,000 of revenue. On Stripe it is followed by a 7-day pause and the first payout request; on Shopify Payments payouts are daily, so there is no pause. |
| **Manual payouts** | Payout mode where money leaves the processor only when you request it. Required from day one on all platforms except Shopify Payments, which stays on daily payouts. |
| **Hold / rolling reserve** | Funds a processor keeps back for a period (e.g. PayPal's \~21-day hold on new accounts).                                                                                                            |
| **Company phone number** | The one dedicated virtual number ([Krispcall](https://try.krispcall.com/d0ye9ovwwn8s)) used for all services of a company. Never your personal number, never shared between companies. |
| **Company email** | The one company email (e.g. `info@yourdomain.com`) used for all services of that company. Never reused for a service where the previous account was banned. |
| **Residential proxy** | An IP address from a home internet connection in a chosen country ([GonzoProxy](https://gonzoproxy.com?r=6162JEL), [IPRoyal](https://iproyal.com/?r=basiq_setup)). Used for PayPal, Shopify, banks. |
| **Mobile proxy** | An IP address from a mobile carrier ([a-socks](https://asocks.com/c/5eB0tn)). Used only for Stripe, in the nominee's country. |
| **Anti-detect browser** | A browser ([OctoBrowser](https://octobrowser.org/signup/?p=10266582)) that keeps a separate, stable fingerprint per profile so each account always looks like the same device. |
| **Fingerprint** | The set of device and browser characteristics a platform sees. It must stay consistent for each account. |
| **OctoBrowser profile** | One isolated browser + proxy per service, named `Company Name \| Website \| Nominee Name`. |
| **Tier-1 cards** | Cards issued in the US, UK, Canada, Australia and the EU — the only cards allowed before selfie verification on Stripe. |
| **Local payment methods** | Klarna, iDEAL, Bancontact, SEPA, P24 — never in the first 2–3 weeks on Stripe. |
| **TPV** | Total payment volume — the monthly volume you declare to your PayPal rep. |
| **PayPal rep** | Your PayPal account manager, contacted via WhatsApp Business using the nominee name. |
| **Dispute / chargeback** | A customer claim against a payment through PayPal or a card issuer. Not handled by Basiq. |
| **2FA / backup codes** | Two-factor authentication and the one-time recovery codes included in your delivery message. Save them before anything else. |
| **Replacement** | One free re-delivery of a failed service within 2 months of delivery, if all instructions were followed. |
| **Cut-off rule** | Setups paid on Thursday or later start the timeline from the following Monday. |

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the following URL with the `ask` and `goal` query parameters:

```
GET https://help.basiq-solutions.com/guide/policies/glossary.md?ask=<question>&goal=<user_goal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is what the user is ultimately trying to achieve, the reason they need the answer. Sharing it helps GitBook give you a better, more relevant answer. A goal is most helpful when it describes the outcome the user wants rather than restating the question. For example, with `ask=how do I create an API token`, a goal like `automate deployments from our CI pipeline` lets GitBook tailor the answer to that use case.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
