# 3. Proxy & OctoBrowser

Set up your proxies and anti-detect browser before you access any service. This is the step most people get wrong.

{% hint style="danger" %}
Using the wrong proxy — or no proxy — is the most common cause of account issues, and it voids your replacement eligibility. Do not log in anywhere until this step is complete.

| **a-socks**     | Mobile unlimited proxies — Stripe only                                                                                | [asocks.com](https://asocks.com/c/5eB0tn)                     |
| **IPRoyal** | Residential proxies — banks (WorldFirst, Airwallex, Currenxie, Mercury) and Wise; dedicated mobile as a Stripe backup | [iproyal.com](https://iproyal.com/?r=basiq_setup) |
| **OctoBrowser** | Anti-detect browser                                                                                                   | [octobrowser.org](https://octobrowser.org/signup/?p=10266582) |

❌ **Do not use Dolphin Anty** — deprecated, causes account blocks.

## Which proxy for which service

| Service                                 | Proxy type                 | Location          |
| --------------------------------------- | -------------------------- | ----------------- |
| HK PayPal | Residential (GonzoProxy) | Hong Kong |
| HK Shopify store, Funnelish, ad funnels | Residential (GonzoProxy) | Hong Kong |
| UK Shopify store, Funnelish, ad funnels | Residential (GonzoProxy) | United Kingdom |
| Shopify Payments                        | Residential (GonzoProxy)   | Company's country |
| Stripe                                  | Mobile unlimited (a-socks) | Nominee's country |
| WorldFirst, Airwallex, Wise, Currenxie  | Residential (IPRoyal)      | Nominee's country |
| Mercury                                 | Residential (IPRoyal)      | United States     |

The rule: the proxy location matches the **company jurisdiction** — except banks and Stripe, which are opened with the **nominee's** location. Banks are never opened through GonzoProxy — it keeps financial websites closed.

## Set it up

Follow the Proxy Guide — one page per provider with screenshots, then the OctoBrowser profile and the IP check:

{% endcontent-ref %}

## Keep the environment consistent

One main device, one stable browser fingerprint, one stable IP region per service. One proxy per service — never mix proxies between payment processor accounts. Any anti-detect browser may be used; OctoBrowser is recommended. An inconsistent environment causes restrictions you are responsible for.

## Done when

* [ ] GonzoProxy account with traffic (paid in USDT); proxy generated with the 120-minute session limit
* [ ] a-socks mobile proxy in the nominee's country (if your package includes Stripe)
* [ ] IPRoyal residential proxy for your bank and Wise — nominee's country (United States for Mercury)
* [ ] One OctoBrowser profile per service, named `Company Name | Website | Nominee Name`
* [ ] IP check at cip.su passed (no red fields except Tunnel; DNS country ≠ IP country is acceptable)

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the following URL with the `ask` and `goal` query parameters:

```
GET https://help.basiq-solutions.com/guide/setup-steps/step-3-proxy.md?ask=<question>&goal=<user_goal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is what the user is ultimately trying to achieve, the reason they need the answer. Sharing it helps GitBook give you a better, more relevant answer. A goal is most helpful when it describes the outcome the user wants rather than restating the question. For example, with `ask=how do I create an API token`, a goal like `automate deployments from our CI pipeline` lets GitBook tailor the answer to that use case.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
