# Proxy Guide

OctoBrowser + GonzoProxy, a-socks and IPRoyal. Required before accessing any service.

{% hint style="danger" %}
You must complete proxy setup before accessing any service provided by Basiq. Using the wrong proxy or no proxy is the most common cause of account issues.
{% endhint %}

## 1. Tools you need

| Tool            | Purpose                                                                                                               | Sign up                                                       |
| --------------- | --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- | ------------------------------------------------------------- |
| **GonzoProxy** | Residential proxies — PayPal, Shopify, Shopify Payments, Funnelish and ad funnels | [gonzoproxy.com](https://gonzoproxy.com?r=6162JEL) |
| **a-socks**     | Mobile unlimited proxies — Stripe only                                                                                | [asocks.com](https://asocks.com/c/5eB0tn)                     |
| **IPRoyal** | Residential proxies — banks (WorldFirst, Airwallex, Currenxie, Mercury) and Wise; dedicated mobile as a Stripe backup | [iproyal.com](https://iproyal.com/?r=basiq_setup) |
| **OctoBrowser** | Anti-detect browser                                                                                                   | [octobrowser.org](https://octobrowser.org/signup/?p=10266582) |

Register every account with your own email — the accounts are yours. ❌ **Do not use Dolphin Anty.** It has serious functional issues and may result in account blocks. Use OctoBrowser only.

## 2. Which proxy to use

| Service                                 | Proxy type                 | Location          |
| --------------------------------------- | -------------------------- | ----------------- |
| HK PayPal | Residential (GonzoProxy) | Hong Kong |
| HK Shopify store, Funnelish, ad funnels | Residential (GonzoProxy) | Hong Kong |
| UK Shopify store, Funnelish, ad funnels | Residential (GonzoProxy) | United Kingdom |
| Shopify Payments                        | Residential (GonzoProxy)   | Company's country |
| Stripe                                  | Mobile unlimited (a-socks) | Nominee's country |
| WorldFirst, Airwallex, Wise, Currenxie  | Residential (IPRoyal)      | Nominee's country |
| Mercury                                 | Residential (IPRoyal)      | United States     |

The rule: the proxy location matches the **company jurisdiction** — except banks and Stripe, which are opened with the **nominee's** location. One proxy per service, never shared between two accounts of the same service.

{% hint style="warning" %}
Banks are never opened through GonzoProxy: it keeps financial websites closed on purpose, even after KYC. Every bank gets its own IPRoyal residential proxy; if a bank refuses a residential IP, log in through your a-socks mobile proxy.
{% endhint %}

## 3. Set up your proxy provider

<table data-view="cards"><thead><tr><th></th><th></th><th></th><th data-hidden data-card-target data-type="content-ref"></th></tr></thead><tbody><tr><td><h4><i class="fa-house-signal" style="color:$primary;">:house-signal:</i></h4></td><td><strong>GonzoProxy</strong></td><td>Residential — PayPal, Shopify, Shopify Payments, Funnelish. Crypto top-up, the 120-minute session rule, every field of the Proxy Setup panel explained.</td><td><a href="/guide/guides/proxy-guide/gonzoproxy.md">GonzoProxy (residential)</a></td></tr><tr><td><h4><i class="fa-mobile-signal" style="color:$primary;">:mobile-signal:</i></h4></td><td><strong>a-socks</strong></td><td>Mobile unlimited in the nominee's country — Stripe only.</td><td><a href="/guide/guides/proxy-guide/a-socks.md">a-socks (mobile — Stripe only)</a></td></tr><tr><td><h4><i class="fa-shield-halved" style="color:$primary;">:shield-halved:</i></h4></td><td><strong>IPRoyal</strong></td><td>Residential — WorldFirst, Airwallex, Currenxie, Mercury and Wise; dedicated mobile when a-socks has no plan in the nominee's country.</td><td><a href="/guide/guides/proxy-guide/iproyal.md">IPRoyal (residential for banks &amp; Wise, mobile for Stripe backup)</a></td></tr></tbody></table>

## 4. OctoBrowser setup

Download OctoBrowser from [octobrowser.org](https://octobrowser.org/signup/?p=10266582) and register yourself, unless your manager confirms that an OctoBrowser account with ready profiles will be provided to you.

{% stepper %}
{% step %}

#### Add the proxy to your profile

Open OctoBrowser → log in → find your profile → click **⋯** → select **New Proxy**.

![OctoBrowser — profile menu → New Proxy](https://1489073001-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2FMi3FIHpdc5cNtmqjAPOo%2Fuploads%2Fq86SwzDT5mxp0fL3nOtL%2Focto-1-new-proxy.png?alt=media)

![OctoBrowser — New Proxy dialog](https://1489073001-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2FMi3FIHpdc5cNtmqjAPOo%2Fuploads%2Fc3mpNrJhXKNcWKnBz63m%2Focto-2-new-proxy.png?alt=media)

Enter the proxy as `socks5://ip:port:username:password` and click **Save changes**. The `socks5://username:password@host:port` form that GonzoProxy and IPRoyal generate is accepted as well — no reformatting needed.

![OctoBrowser — proxy format](https://1489073001-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2FMi3FIHpdc5cNtmqjAPOo%2Fuploads%2FOnDKmpIkFc6VDnPPy2LW%2Focto-3-proxy-format.png?alt=media)
{% endstep %}

{% step %}

#### Match the fingerprint to your real OS

macOS ARM → macOS ARM, Windows 11 → Windows 11.
{% endstep %}

{% step %}

#### Verify your IP

Click **Start ▶️** to open the profile, then go to **cip.su** and check the right column:

* ✅ All fields **NO** (not red)
* ✅ **Tunnel** being red — acceptable
* ✅ DNS country ≠ IP country — acceptable
* ❌ Any other field red → restart the profile; the fingerprint will update

![cip.su — what a passing check looks like](https://1489073001-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2FMi3FIHpdc5cNtmqjAPOo%2Fuploads%2FjqHyuAE606WEed8gVXpF%2Focto-4-ip-check.png?alt=media)

If the IP still fails → generate a new proxy and repeat.
{% endstep %}

{% step %}

#### Name the profile

One profile per service. Convention: `Company Name | Website | Nominee Name`

![OctoBrowser — profile naming](https://1489073001-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2FMi3FIHpdc5cNtmqjAPOo%2Fuploads%2FZZ97dF8RtIPOpeBgvk9o%2Focto-profile-naming.png?alt=media)
{% endstep %}
{% endstepper %}

## 5. Replacing a proxy

A proxy can be replaced at any time — a new IP in the **same country** does not affect the account. Add the new proxy to the same profile, restart it and run the IP check again. Changing the country does affect the account: never do it on a live service. Switching provider (for example GonzoProxy → IPRoyal) follows the same rule: keep the country.

## 6. Common issues

| Problem                                  | Solution                                                                                                                                                                                                           |
| ---------------------------------------- | ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ |
| PayPal will not load | Switch proxy → regenerate the browser fingerprint → clear cache → retry |
| A bank will not open on GonzoProxy | Not a settings problem — financial websites are closed on GonzoProxy. Open the bank through [IPRoyal](/guide/guides/proxy-guide/iproyal.md) (residential, the country from the table) or your a-socks mobile proxy |
| Proxy session expired | Reconnect — GonzoProxy sessions reset every 120 minutes |
| Traffic ran out / below 400 MB | Add traffic and generate the proxy again |
| OctoBrowser profile very slow | Check proxy quality at cip.vg → regenerate; test a short plan before buying a long one |
| WorldFirst login error on residential IP | Log in through your mobile proxy (a-socks) — the usual fix |
| Wise will not open on GonzoProxy | Use an IPRoyal residential proxy in the nominee's country — the same as for your other banks |

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the following URL with the `ask` and `goal` query parameters:

```
GET https://help.basiq-solutions.com/guide/guides/proxy-guide.md?ask=<question>&goal=<user_goal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is what the user is ultimately trying to achieve, the reason they need the answer. Sharing it helps GitBook give you a better, more relevant answer. A goal is most helpful when it describes the outcome the user wants rather than restating the question. For example, with `ask=how do I create an API token`, a goal like `automate deployments from our CI pipeline` lets GitBook tailor the answer to that use case.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
